Are netbooks okay for storing your photos while you are traveling?

I want to buy a netbook for when I go traveling would it be a good option to download my photos onto it…ie. would it have enough space? As I have heard that they are very simple and small operating systems. I guess I could use the netbook as a means to get photos from a camera to a USB device.

I need a portable computer for word processing and web browsing for research. This will be used strictly for my schoolwork – I don’t need a second powerful computer.
Would a netbook suit my needs, or should I go for a full-fledged laptop? I have considered getting one of the 12-inch netbooks (Lenovo S12 and Samsung NC20).
What are your thoughts on this?

Many netbooks come with 3-cell/6-cell batteries and websites claim it will go even longer with 9-cell ones. If thats the case then why doesnt manufacturers include that in the first place? How much does it cost when u buy it extra? And how about the weight, does it make the netbook heavy?

Im looking into buying a netbook for myself. I need something not too pricey. Also a mobile broadband is internet access whenever or wherever, right? Can i buy a netbook without mobile broadband and use my own home wi fi internet connection?

I am in the market for a netbook
the things i want are
2GB of RAM (no less)
at least 160 gb harddrive
a medium end GPU (ATI Radeon 3200, Intel GMA 4500mhd or equivalent)
and an operating system (a lot of the ones i found on newegg did not come with an OS)

ok, so this year my school is implementing a plan to allow students to buy netbooks (fairly chjeaply) and use them to take notes, write papers, etc. However, my question is directed to more of what i can do outside of school…Keep in mind this is a quote “fairly cheap” netbook, do u think it can surf the web quickly, save a good amount of files, and play games that need software i.e. java or adobe? ALso, these adobe/java games, will they play at a good speed? plz i need help!

i want to get a netbook just for my junior and senior years cuz ill be volunteering and going places and i need a cheap laptop to do my ap assignments on for now and then when i go to college i plan on getting a macbook.so just for these two years i need a cheap laptop.
i saw the asus “seashell” model and i think it looks great.
**BUT IT DOESNT HAVE TWO FINGER SCROLLING
also there is this new lenovo 12 inch ion netbook that performs better than the other netbooks but its $500…
i dont think ill be needing a $500 netbook. i need somthing around $350. i would like the latest atom processor. and two finger scrolling. and less than 3lb. any1 know where i can find a netbook like that or can u suggest one? thnx

I am considering buying the Msi Wind for college. I want to know if you guys thing this is a good buy, at around $350. Is this a good idea? I love this netbook, but am concerned at the lack of a cd-drive.
How do you put things on your laptop w/o a cd-drive? I’m not quite sure how that works.
Also – do any of you know of a good 12″ laptop? Maybe that’s the solution. Thanks

i think that a 12 inch netbook would be a good choice but on the other hand
spending like 400$ on it is kinda a waste when i can probably buy a decent laptop starting at 500$
and that is my budged 450-500$
im thinking about either HP or ASUS
my cousin bought ASUS laptop and he said that it is very good and it was very good price

am in college and it is so big, I don’t want to take it to school.I was looking into netbooks, to take to school but the specs are so low. Are they really slow? I just need to be able to use word and surf internet.. Is it better to buy one of these or a cheaper 13” laptop? Also are there any 12” laptops?
